Social Media Integration
Sunday, February 1st, 2009Just got back from Fitur09 in Madrid - I went there to learn about the travel industry and go to the SMX Travel conference where a number of companies were talking about their experiences with social media.
Mobissimo were the only company who had actually done something other than create a Facebook group, a blog or a twitter account - so I thought they might have something interesting to say….
Lucia Carniglia (co-founder) talked about how their traffic had increased 600% after integrating - MobiShare and MobiFriends… so far so good…
On investigating their site I found they have not developed related and proprietary tools to their industry but have integrated the social tools of two different third party suppliers - Thingfo and Plum… rather disappointing.
Neither are particularly well integrated or relevant to their users needs, however some have taken the time to sign up and traffic has increased….I asked if they have seen any increase in bookings as a direct result of the services but my question was not answered…
So its good to know people will take time to create a profile and share the site with their friends - basically on the back of the social networking buzz - imagine the potential growth with well thought out and industry relevant social tools….
